Day 1: Depart from Kampala to the Sipi falls
Following breakfast in the morning in your respective hotel, you will embark on a journey to Sipi falls, Eastern Uganda along the Kampala-Jinja-Iganga-Mbale route where you will commence your adventure to the popular Sipi falls to view the showering waterfalls and as you also catch a glimpse of the spectacular white waters flowing down the rock to make up the stunning waterfalls. The Sipi area provides exceptionally stunning scenic views and allows you to catch a glimpse of natural wonder that Uganda holds for the world. After, return to the lodge where you will retire for the night at the Sipi River Lodge, Lacam Lodge for midrange and Crow’s Nest Camp Site for Budget.
Day 2: An entire day hike to Mount Elgon
Breakfast early in the morning and after you will embark on Mount Elgon hiking adventure. This incredible mountain is the hugest volcanic mountain caldera in the world covering about 42 square kilometers and has the biggest volcanic bas in the world covering 4000 square kilometers. This entire day adventure to the spectacular volcano mountain slopes comes with stunning flora and tropical rainforest prior reaching the mountain vegetation especially the lobelia and groundsels. You will have a chance to view several birdlife and mountain flora as well as the Bagisu agricultural lands, Mbale Town and the stunning Karamoja plains. After, you will spend a night at Mbale Resort Hotel for luxury, Mount Elgon Hotel-midrange and Kapkwai Forest Cottages.
Day 3: Depart to Kidepo Valley National Park
Following breakfast in the morning, you will set off to Kidepo Valley National Park via the stunning landscapes of Nakapiripirit, Moroto and Kotido with the amazing views of Mount Moroto prior reaching Kaboong and Kidepo in the evening for rest in Apoka Safari Lodge (luxury), Nga’ Moru Wilderness Camp (Midrange) and Apoka Rest Camp (Budget).
Day 4: Game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park
Following breakfast in the morning, you will embark on your morning game drive to Kanangorok hot spring. Kidepo Valley National Park offers refuge to over 86 species of mammals 28 of which are never in any other part of Uganda. It also offers refuge to 463 bird species 26 of which not recorded and this makes Kidepo the third best safari destination in Uganda. After, you return for a rest and have lunch at the lodge and after embark on Karenna and Kapedo for cultural encounters from the Karamojong people. After, you will return to the lodge where you spent your previous night.
Day 5: Depart from Kidepo Valley National Park to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast in the morning, you will be picked by the driver guide who will transfer you to Murchison Falls National Park. You will travel through the stunning Northern Uganda landscapes of Kitgum and Gulu. You will check in your lodge of choice for rest and night in Paraa Safari Lodge (Luxury), Pakuba Safari Lodge (Midrange) and Heritage Safari Lodge (Budget).
Day 6: Game drive in Murchison Falls National Park and in the afternoon Launch cruise and hike to the top of the Nile.
Following breakfast in the morning, you will set off to an early morning exciting wildlife viewing north of the River Nile through the delta tracks towards the west from ferry jet at Paraa to Lake Albert Delta. A 20 square kilometer site of grassland near the Victoria Nile delta comes with large number of wildlife species for you to catch a glimpse. Among many include the African Lions, Buffaloes, African elephants, the Jackson’s hartebeest, the Oribis, Leopard, Rothschild giraffes and many more. Return for rest and lunch and in the afternoon embark on a launch cruise to the bottom of mighty Murchison falls which will reward you with views of large number of hippos, crocodiles and water birds.
While in this area, you view the River Nile squeezing itself into a narrow gorge within 7 meters prior plunging 43 meters below to what is described as the Devil’s cauldron making the most thunderous roar and wide array of rainbow. After, you will set back to the lodge for rest, dinner and night at Paraa Safari Lodge (Luxury), Pakuba Safari Lodge (Midrange) and Heritage Safari Lodge (Budget).
Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking in Budongo Forest and drive back to Kampala, track rhinos in Ziwa sanctuary en-route
Following breakfast in the morning, you will drive back to Kaniyo pabidi forest in Budongo forest for chimpanzee trekking and also sight some spectacular bird species like the white thighed horn bill, the chocolates backed kingfisher, and chestnut winged starling, trogon, Puvel’s illadopsis and yellow footed fly catcher which you may not find in part in East Africa. After you three hour chimpanzee adventure, you will drive to the Ziwa sanctuary to track the only rhinos that make up the big 5 game in Uganda. After you drive back to Kampala where you will have a night at Sheraton Kampala Hotel (Luxury), Humura Resorts (Midrange) and Buziga Country Resort (Budget)
Day 8: Kampala city tour
Following breakfast in morning, you will embark on Kampala city tour around Uganda Martyrs Shrine, Kabaka of Buganda palace, Kasubi tombs and after drive to Entebbe International Airport for your flight if it is scheduled the same day which will mark the end of your 8 days Uganda wildlife safari.
